COVID Safety Information
Now that COVID-19 has reached every community in Cass County and there are over 2500 cases in Cass, Crow Wing, and Beltrami counties, our highest priority is the health and safety of our clients, volunteers and staff at Faith in Action for Cass County. With safety in mind, Board Members and staff at Faith in Action developed a COVID-19 Prepared-ness Plan and Contagious Disease Safety Protocol. (Copies are available upon request.)
Volunteers, clients and staff must follow some simple guidelines such as wearing masks, using hand sanitizer and disinfectant, applying physical distancing as much as possible (such as riders in the back seat), among other things. We have some supplies of sanitizer and disinfectant for volunteers to use and are seeking more. We will also send masks to all volunteers and clients who request them.
Currently Faith in Action volunteers are providing transportation, food and prescription delivery, and some outside repairs and chores. As the pandemic continues we would like to open services for housekeeping and inside chores and repairs, but we can only do that if we ensure safety procedures are in place. Volunteers are especially at risk because their liability insurance does not cover COVID-19 or any contagious disease.
In order to keep Faith in Action open, we desperately need your help to keep everyone safe and ensure that Faith in Action services will be available to the communities of Cass County now and in the future.
Please review the information about Faith in Action’s Safety Guidelines and consider what you can do to support the volunteers and clients. Do not hesitate to call Faith in Action office at 218-675-5435 if you have any questions or concerns.
Also, if you should become ill or test positive for COVID-19, please contact our office so we are aware of your situation and can help in some way, and we can notify any persons who may need to quarantine or get tested.
Thank you for being part of Faith in Action for Cass County. We are all in this together.

COVID-19 Volunteer and Client Safety Guidelines
I understand the risks involved with providing and receiving volunteer services during the COVID-19 pandemic.
I understand that in order to protect myself and others, including the Faith in Action volunteers who assist others, I must follow the Safety Guidelines and take certain precautions to the best of my abilities, including the following:
I am self-monitoring my health condition and if I am feeling sick or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, I will report to the Faith in Action Director and make plans to stay at home.
I will report to the Faith in Action Director if I have recently traveled from a large city or another state or if I have attended a large group event and discuss whether I need to complete a two (2) week quarantine period.
I will report to the Faith in Action Director and self-quarantine if I have recently been in close proximity to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 or who has COVID-19 symptoms.
I will follow social distancing guidelines by staying at least six (6) feet away from any other person not in my household, to the best of my ability. (Exceptions include sitting together in a car with the driver in the front and the rider in the back passenger-side seat not quite 6 feet apart.)
I will wear a cloth face cover when around others in public, including during transportation.
I will regularly wash my hands, use sanitizer and clean and disinfect my person, belongings and home.
Only by working together can we keep everyone safe and ensure that Faith in Action services will be open and available to the residents of Cass County now and in the future.
