Services

Faith in Action provides many different helpful services to those in need. While donations are accepted with gratitude, there are no charges for our volunteer services. If you don't see your particular need on this list please feel free to call and ask. Click this link to find out about our service policies.

Accessible Van

Are you in a wheelchair and unable to transfer into a regular vehicle? Faith in Action has an accessible van that can take you to your medical appointments, important errands or on other essential trips. Booking our van for appointments  is subject to availability. Please call well in advance so we are able to accommodate your request.

Transportation

Need a ride? Our transportation services include rides to medical appointments, errands, grocery shopping and other essential trips. Volunteers provide rides using their own vehicle. We ask that you contact Faith in Action two business days prior to the date of your request, so that we are able to arrange for a volunteer in time.

Friendly Visiting

Would you like someone to come to your house to visit once a week or so? We have volunteers who love to come visit and play card or board games. Many of them even like just sitting and chatting for a while. If this seems like the right fit for you, call us today!

Minor Home Repair & Wheelchair Ramps

Are you in a wheelchair or just having a hard time getting up and down your steps? Our Ramp crew prides itself on building sturdy, up to code accessible ramps to help individuals with mobility disabilities stay in their homes. if you think your home needs an accessible ramp, call us today!

​Chores and Household tasks

Do you have household or yard tasks that need to be done but because of age or disability you are unable to complete them? We have volunteers who love to clean, mow, rake and shovel. Even when it's something as simple as changing the light bulbs, our volunteers are happy to help. Call us today!

Caregiver Respite & Support

Are you a caregiver in need of time for yourself to go meet friends or run some errands? We have volunteers who would love to stay and spend time with your loved one for a few hours. Volunteers can visit with them or even just sit with them while giving you time to be just you for a while. 

We also offer support in the form of a listening ear and resources to help with stress and your caregiver/care receiver relationship. Please call us today!

Home Meal Delivery

Are you having trouble getting the daily nutrition you need to stay healthy? Or do you need help supplementing some of your meals? We work with the Lutheran Social Services Senior Nutrition site at the Lake May Center in Walker. They provide multiple meals and our volunteers deliver them every other week to the Cass Lake/Bena and Longville/Remer areas. We also serve the Walker and Hackensack area but currently do not have any recipients in those areas. If you are interested in receiving meals, please call us today!
