Volunteers who are willing to drive both locally and to larger towns or cities. You can choose how far is too far. Examples include Bemidji, Brainerd, Park Rapids, and Grand Rapids. Our clients require rides to these locations often for medical and other clinical appointments. Some require rides to St. Cloud, Duluth or Fargo for Medical appointments. Those drives are not as common.

Specialty Skill Volunteers
We are always looking for new volunteers who are skilled builders, carpenters, plumbers, appliance repair technicians, masons, electricians or other skilled workers.
Chores and Household Tasks
Immediate need: Walker, Hackensack, Longville, Pine River.
Light House Cleaning, Yard Work, Raking and Snow Removal
Voluneers who enjoy helping someone clean and organize or take care of their yard. It means the world to our clients, who are unable to do these chores for themselves, to have the dignity of a clean home and shoveled walk way.
Caregiver Respite & Support
Immediate need: Hackensack & Longville
Allow a caregiver a much needed break.
Stay with someone while their caregiver does their errands or activities. No hands on care is allowed but visiting and getting to know the person is encouraged.
Home Meal Delivery
Immediate need: Walker, Longville, Remer, Bena
Drivers to deliver meals to on the Longville, Remer & Bena runs.
We are always looking for new volunteers who are interested in delivering meals to people who are unable to cook or purchase food for themselves. There are three different trips that you can volunteer for: Longville, Remer, and Bena. The runs are each on a regular schedule every other week. The Meals are produced and provided by Lutheran Social Service's nutrition site in Walker at the Lake May Center.
